My Role

Social media Manager, Video Editor, Content Creation, Social Media Strategist, Brand Management, Community Marketing, SEO, Website Design, User-Generated Content Management, Sales, Social media Analytic Analysis, Data base Analytics, and B2B Sales

Background

I was hired as the marketing manager to oversee all marketing channels of Emberley Fireplace and design a brand image for the company. I reported directly to the owner and we worked together to design the brand image of the company moving forward. I was responsible for content creation, strategy implementation, social media management, and in-house sales.

In this role, I learned the most about project management. Keeping in constant communication with the owner Neal on what we had planned for content, what information we needed from distributors, and how our previous posts were performing with adjustments if needed. I used Notions and Meta Business Suite to stay organized with all our projects and keep our team current.

The Problem

Strategic Approach

Post schedule

  • Increase our posting from 1-2 times a week to 4-5 in order to become the most prominent name for alternative home heating in Newfound land

Post content

  • finishes projects to give future customers an idea of what their homes could look like and how we can help make that happen

  • informational content in maintenance and how our units function so that we become the primary authority in the St John’s area. when people need a solution they think to come to us first.

  • Hi-quality photos and videos to separate ourselves from lower-quality products

Branding

  • position ourselves as a high-quality supplier with units that last and a strong warranty agreement.

  • host community events to increase brand awareness, word of mouth, and foot traffic

  • reduce as many pain points for a customer as possible to make their experience smooth and effortless

Results

Initially, I had to learn the world of wood and propane heating as I had never dealt with it before. so I listened to customers as other associates helped them through their path to purchase and asked our installers questions about what was common on jobs such as “what pain points a customer might have between purchase and turning their unit on for the first time.

From my experiance, I suggested the following

  • we had 2 major competitors in the area, only one of which was leveraging social media. We have to increase our posting from 1-2 times a week to 4-5 in order to become the most prominent name for our industry in our service area.

  • people looking to build a home or renovate their current one want to see their options. we should be posting our social channels full of completed projects to that potential customers searching for ideas and seeing our projects and envision them in their homes.

  • generate informational content to that we were seen as the primary authority in the industry to that people could come to use with their questions

  • we had to differentiate ourselves as a high-quality product seller. We could not compete with home depot and Costco on prices they were starting to carry similar items. this meant our service, quality, and warranty had to be our top selling points

  • In our area word mouth marketing is a key aspect. When someone visits their friend’s house and notices the beautiful new fireplace or the heat from a new wood stove we want our name shared as much as possible.

  • SEO implementation – Improved Emberley fireplace to top Google search for “fireplace” and “wood Stove” in the St John’s area.

  • Expand Social Media Reach – Grew Emberley Fireplaces social media search by 32% in the first 3 months and by 200% from January 2023 to April 2023

  • Improved Customer Engagement – Implemented an automated message to new leads on our website and social media platforms leading to a 2.3% lead conversion rate.

  • Drive Customer Engagement – Raised average post engagements by 1540% in the last 7 months.

  • Through an in-store survey, we found a 33% increase in our social media posts producing conversions to store visits
